Who: Board and staff of PFC members, as well as of foundations strongly considering membership, who are based in the Greater Calgary Area and elsewhere in Alberta. Where: cSPACE Marda Loop, Studio Theatre South, 1721 29 Avenue S.W., Calgary, Alberta T2T 6T7 What: A brief talk by Michele Fugiel Gartner, PFC’s post-doctoral fellow, around the Evolving Narratives of Canadian Philanthropic Foundations, followed by Q&A and discussion. Michele will share early findings from current PFC research which conceptualizes foundations’ purposes, approaches, and roles while reflecting on their history and future in Canada. Early findings explore how foundations are adapting to recent policy changes, investing their assets, and reflecting on emerging needs/trends.
