The second wave of COVID is threatening to overwhelm our health system once again and to deepen the recession menacing the survival of many of our civil society partners. I would urge you to listen to our latest PFC webinar Wednesday “The Second Wave is here: What‘s Next for Philanthropy”to shake any despair you may feel and to get inspired by very pragmatic insights from leaders of the Canadian philanthropic community (Claire from the Trottier Foundation; Conrad from the Canadian Red Cross; Kevin from the Vancouver Foundation; and Marcel from the Lawson Foundation). Our community is stepping up but, in this time of historic needs, we are being called to be more generous and to improve our impact. PFC research and monitoring on the COVID response indicate that the practice of philanthropy is rapidly evolving in line with the COVID guiding principles and that several foundations are digging deeper. Much remains to be done as demonstrated by the anti-racism movement in both the US and Canada. Philanthropy is not immune. PFC is creating space for conversations that can be challenging at times but also offer new avenues for collaboration and progress. Don’t miss our Webinar Wednesday on October 14th “Mind the Gap: the State of Philanthropy and the Black Community.” Share This Article Facebook Twitter LinkedIn Email
