Exclusively for PFC Members In Person

Montreal Policy Convening for Members

2 November 2026 / Registration Open

CONTEXT

PFC is entering an important period of policy and government engagement. The federal government’s formal review of the disbursement quota is likely to come forward in late 2026 or early 2027, while related discussions about the administration and regulation of charities are already underway behinds the scenes.

Right now, federal government interest in mobilizing investment toward Canadian economic and social priorities is palpable, which is creating new conversations about social finance, philanthropic capital, and the role foundations can play in partnership with government right now.

INVITATION

Following conversations in Vancouver in August, at PFC’s National Conference in September, and in Calgary in October, PFC will be hosting a member-only 5 à 7 policy convening in Montreal on Monday, November 2 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM ET. The event will be in French only. The event will happen at Maison du Développement Durable, in the Clark Room (50 Sainte-Catherine St. West, Montréal, Québec H2X 3V4).

AGENDA

This 5 à 7 convening will bring together PFC member CEOs, board members, and other senior leaders to continue the policy consultations and discuss:

  • The current federal political climate and opportunities for engagement
  • PFC’s board-approved policy agenda and our 2026 federal Budget submission
  • Emerging opportunities and concerns related to social finance and philanthropic investment
  • What foundations need government to understand as it approaches the upcoming DQ review
  • Where government partnership, policy change or greater clarity could strengthen philanthropy’s contribution
  • How PFC can best represent members and strengthen the sector’s voice in the year ahead

The goal is to have a candid conversation with members, compare perspectives, and ensure that the positions PFC takes forward are grounded in the experiences and priorities of our network.
