Exclusively for PFC Members In Person Calgary Working Lunch on PFC’s Policy & Advocacy Priorities 7 October 2026 / Registration Open Published: September 30, 2026 Événements Exclusively for PFC Members Calgary Working Lunch on PFC’s Policy & Advocacy Priorities CONTEXT PFC is entering an important period of policy and government engagement. The federal government’s formal review of the disbursement quota is likely to come forward in late 2026 or early 2027, while related discussions about the administration and regulation of charities are already underway behind the scenes. Right now, federal government interest in mobilizing investment toward Canadian economic and social priorities is palpable, which is creating new conversations about social finance, philanthropic capital, and the role foundations can play in partnership with government right now. INVITATION Following conversations in Vancouver in August, and at PFC’s National Conference in September, Jean-Marc Mangin will be in Calgary on Wednesday, October 7 and would value the opportunity to hear directly from members as we engage in these discussions and refine PFC’s advocacy activities. AGENDA This will be a working lunch of a group of Calgary area PFC member CEOs, board members, and other senior leaders to discuss: The current federal political climate and opportunities for engagement PFC’s board-approved policy agenda and our 2026 federal Budget submission Emerging opportunities and concerns related to social finance and philanthropic investment What foundations need government to understand as it approaches the upcoming DQ review Where government partnership, policy change or greater clarity could strengthen philanthropy’s contribution How PFC can best represent members and strengthen the sector’s voice in the year ahead The goal is to have a candid conversation with members, compare perspectives, and ensure that the positions PFC takes forward are grounded in the experiences and priorities of our network.
