Our Capacity Building initiatives bring together our community and sector colleagues of grantmakers to connect, learn, and bring about solutions that advance the common good and work towards more impactful philanthropy.

There are several ways grantmaking organizations can connect with peers in the sector, through PFC Convened Funder Affinity Groups, and PFC Connects which is a directory of networks and peer groups active in the sector. Through shared professional interests, members of these groups and networks collaborate, learn, and build relationships by providing a supportive environment for exchanging ideas, tackling challenges, and deepening expertise through regular meetings, discussions, and collaborative projects. There is no cost to participate, and it is open to grantmaking organizations, PFC members and non-members alike.    PFC’s Affinity groups meet during Spring and Fall, and usually meet 2-6 times a year, depending on the group.  In addition to in-person meetings, we offer a group specific listserv for real-time communication with Affinity Group members.  All meetings are virtual to host members from coast to coast to coast.
Our Capacity Building initiatives bring grantmakers together to connect, learn, and bring about solutions that advance the common good and work towards more impactful philanthropy.   Through our Professional Development offerings, PFC works with subject matter experts and peers to provide training that supports staff and board members to increase knowledge, improve skills and translate this knowledge and skills into real life applications.
