Land Acknowledgement Land Acknowledgement The individuals who comprise PFC feel it’s important to recognize the land we are working on. Our staff and board live and work in many territories of Turtle Island and we acknowledge the continuing Indigenous presence and land rights of all First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples and their valuable past and present contributions to the land. PFC’s main office is located on the traditional territory of the Kanien’kehà:ka (otherwise known as Montréal) which has long served as a site of meeting and exchange for many Indigenous communities, including the Kanien’kehà:ka of the Haudenosaunee Confederacy, Huron/Wendat, Abenaki, and Anishinaabeg. Our staff and board have been or are of settler and Indigenous ancestry. Collectively, we make it our professional and personal responsibility to continue learning and better understand the history and legacy of colonialism. We know reconciliation requires action, and we strive to ensure our own work – and that of PFC – helps us move together towards a more just future.
