Let’s Keep the
Conversation Going

The 2021 PFC Conference, held on November 4-5, 9-10th, 2021 was an annual opportunity for the philanthropic community to come together, learn from one another, and better understand what’s next for philanthropy. The past two years have transformed us, both individually and collectively. As we are slowly moving from emergency response to recovery and rebuilding, the challenges that lie ahead of all of us are complicated and diverse in nature. What are the impacts on philanthropy? How are foundations operating in the context of calls for increased accountability, transparency and more giving? How has philanthropy stepped up to better serve diverse communities? What have we learned about funder collaborations? And where is Canadian philanthropy at with climate action and how can it increase the scale and impact of measures to address the climate crisis? These are some of the questions we tried to collectively answer during the 2021 conference.

Below you will find video recordings, daily recaps, and curated resources, including two articles covering the conference from our collaborator Future of Good.

PFC would like to thank everyone once again who contributed and participated in our 2021 virtual conference, including our principal supporter: RBC Foundation, our partner: the Lucie et André Chagnon Foundation, and our collaborators: Community Foundations of Canada, Foundation for Black Communities, Environment Funders Canada, Millani Inc., The Circle on Philanthropy and Aboriginal Peoples in Canada, The Philanthropist Journal, Ontario Trillium Foundation, Future of Good, and le Collectif des fondations québécoises contre des inégalités.
