About the Candidate You are currently pursuing a graduate degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field, specializing in sustainable finance or impact investing. You have a keen interest in financial markets and a deep curiosity about exploring the intricacies of impact investment strategies. Ideally, you are in your final year of studies and have already completed at least one prior co-op or internship in a finance or investment-related role. Your motivation stems from a sincere desire to understand how impact investing works, and you are eager to apply the knowledge you’ve gained in the classroom to real-world impact investment opportunities. About the Opportunity The Impact Investing Intern will work closely with the investment team to assist with various aspects of investment and impact management, including transaction processing, quarterly reporting, data analysis, and presentation creation. Your role will involve familiarizing yourself with impact investments and contributing to investment and impact reporting, all while supporting the team’s overall goals and initiatives as we make progress towards our goals of building a 100% impact investment portfolio and reaching net zero by 2050. Location Flexible within Canada. Montreal preferred. Remote employees must reside in Canada full-time. Flexibility to work in office or hybrid environment. Employment Type Part time (14-21 hours per week) Contract of 3 months with the possibility to renew on a quarterly basis following probation. Department and Team Investment Supervisor Investment Director Key Responsibilities (Summary) Assist with the quarterly investment committee reporting documents. Learn about the department’s operations and provide assistance in operations and transactions as needed. Familiarize yourself with impact investments and assist in crafting reports, including our 2023 Impact Investing Report. Actively participate in investment manager updates and maintain research notes. Assist with due diligence of new impact investment opportunities and engagement with existing fund managers. Position Requirements Enrollment in a graduate degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field with a sustainable finance or impact investing focus. Interest in impact investment management and portfolio construction., and a desire to learn about impact investing. Proficiency in Excel, encompassing modeling, charting, and data analysis. Possesses analytical skills, accountability, strong organizational abilities, meticulous attention to detail, and a self-starter mindset. Fluent in articulating investment concepts in a written format. Functional bilingualism in English and French preferred.
