One of the challenges that small-to-medium sized foundations have is figuring out what type of strategic planning exercise to engage in, particularly in the early stages of development. Questions arise such as: Should we start with mapping our values and our passions? Will this lead to impactful choices? What does scanning the landscape look like? How wide should we cast the net so we can have flexibility, while ensuring impact with our grantees and their beneficiaries?

Drawing from their experience leading Innoweave’s Impact and Strategic Clarity module, Stephanie Garrow and Lara Evoy will provide practical ideas about how to be more strategic about planning for, and holding yourselves and your grantees accountable to, the impact you want to see. Their strategy work believes strongly in helping grantmakers clearly name and measure the impact they are having, through a clearly defined intended impact statement and theory of change.

This session will welcome a case study from the Jeanne Sauvé Foundation who participated in the Impact and Strategic Clarity module in 2014, as well as an open discussion about the strategic planning challenges and opportunities faced by small-to-medium sized foundations.

The webinar will be based on the Innoweave Strategic Clarity module. Stephanie and Lara will lead a discussion period following the presentation to answer any of your questions.
