PFC Webinar: Next Gen: Engaging Millennials

Wednesday, March 23, 2016

1:00 – 2:00pm ET

Family foundations are facing the succession questions: how to bring younger generations onto the board and introduce them into the work of the foundation? How can we pique their interest to begin with? How can we navigate generational differences and shifting areas of interest? How can we give them a sense of ownership and pride over the work of a foundation that may have existed before they were born? At what age can they be involved?

Join us on March 23rd from 1:00 to 2:00pm ET, when two Toronto-based PFC members will share their own experiences of engaging the next generation. Amanda Mayer from the Lawson Foundation will highlight their 5G Fund: Accelerate, an initiative of the “fifth generation” of Lawson family members. Kelly Meighen will share the lessons learned with her own children at the T.R. Meighen Family Foundation. Gwen Harvey,  founder and President of BridgeWater Family Wealth Services, has worked with families facing the complexities inherent in multi-generational wealth for more than 25 years, and supported the succession work of the T.R. Meighen Family Foundation. She will share her expertise and what is important for foundations to consider when looking toward the next generation.
