Please join us to talk about PFC’s goals and strategies for 2017-2020. You have told us that the most important reason to join PFC is to learn and engage with your peers and colleagues in the PFC community. So we want to engage with you, our 135 plus members, to share our thinking about the directions in which we see Canadian philanthropy moving, and to discuss the value that PFC creates for members and for the broader community.

The PFC staff and board of directors have been reflecting on how the world of organized philanthropy in Canada has changed since we were created back in 2000. It’s a very different context today. As we look ahead at the next three years, we want to make sure that we are continuing to position ourselves to support, advocate for and inspire Canadian grantmakers, who are collectively taking on increasingly complex issues and who have uniquely important roles to play in developing effective solutions to those issues.

Last November, PFC board members and staff got together for a full-day planning session. At the conclusion of this day we decided on a new set of goals and strategies for PFC. We want to share them with you to get your views on PFC’s evolution as an organization that brings together and speaks for Canadian foundations.

What to Expect

We will present the goals and strategies we have developed for our three-year strategic framework. We will then lead a group discussion around the purpose and suggested directions that we are proposing, and ask you for specific feedback. This feedback will be taken back to our Board of Directors, made up of members from across the country, who will review the framework to ensure that it meets the interests of the membership and that we are playing a necessary and relevant role in growing Canadian philanthropy. We hope to have another round of meetings with you later in the year to share our directions.
